I’m Rebecca Jackson, founder of Changing Faces and a permanent makeup artist specialising in natural, bespoke permanent makeup, correction and removal in Exeter.
I’ve worked within the beauty and makeup industry for more than 25 years and have specialised in permanent makeup since 2013. Over that time, I’ve worked with hundreds of different faces, skin types and circumstances — from clients simply wanting to save time and feel more confident without makeup, through to people experiencing hair loss, changes following illness or treatment, previous permanent makeup they are unhappy with, or brows that simply need a fresh start.
For me, permanent makeup should never be about giving everybody the same brows, lips or eyeliner. It should work with your face.

Permanent makeup is an evolving industry. Pigments, techniques, machines, removal technology and our understanding of how treatments age in the skin have changed enormously since I first began.
Continuing to learn has therefore always been a major part of my work.

My Approach
My approach has always been based around creating results that feel like you.
Whether I’m creating soft hairstroke brows, a subtle powder or combination brow, lip blush, a delicate lash enhancement or more defined permanent eyeliner, every treatment is designed around your colouring, features, skin, lifestyle and the result you actually want.
Some clients want an almost undetectable enhancement. Others want a little more definition. Neither is right or wrong, the important thing is that we make those decisions together.
I’ll always be honest about what I think will work, what may not work and what is realistically achievable.
Your Consultation Comes First
One of the most important parts of my job happens before I ever pick up a machine.
Your consultation gives us time to talk properly about what you want, look at your skin and existing pigment where relevant, discuss your options and make sure that permanent makeup is actually the right treatment for you.
If I think another technique, removal first, or even no treatment at all would give you a better long-term result, I will tell you.
Permanent makeup is designed to last. I believe choosing the right treatment plan matters far more than simply booking the quickest one.

Permanent Makeup Correction & Removal
As permanent makeup has become more popular, a growing part of my work involves correcting or removing previous treatments.
Sometimes pigment has changed colour. Sometimes brows have become too saturated, too dark or are no longer the shape somebody wants. And sometimes the best route forward is not simply adding more pigment.
I offer both laser permanent makeup removal and Botched Ink saline removal, allowing me to assess each case individually rather than relying on one removal method for everybody.
This is particularly important with permanent makeup pigments, as different colours and pigment compositions can react very differently during removal.
My aim is always to create a sensible long-term plan — whether that involves removal, correction, new permanent makeup afterwards, or sometimes simply leaving the skin alone for a while.
Permanent Makeup Through Change
Some of the work that means the most to me is supporting people whose appearance has changed through alopecia, hair loss, cancer treatment, surgery or other major life changes.
Losing brows, lashes or other familiar features can have an enormous effect on how someone recognises themselves.
In these situations, permanent makeup can become about far more than convenience.
It can be a small part of helping somebody feel like themselves again.
I work sensitively and without assumptions, creating treatments around the individual person, what they have experienced and what they feel ready for.
